As an advocate for tolerance and human rights C-ya believes that expression through film and video is a powerful way to create social awareness and cultural change. He stays busy as a filmmaker for Unity Promo while working on other productions for cablecasting on BNN (Boston Neighborhood Network) Television, and his production company Wun Deuce Media/Samura Enterprises.


A graduate of both Roxbury Community College and Fitchburg State College; C-ya also has received expert instruction as a production intern for WGBH’s award winning series “Basic Black”, and while studying at San Francisco State University.

C-ya is a decorated combat veteran, served in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), has been recognized by The Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts, Senator Edward Kennedy (MA), Governor Mitt Romney, and Mayor Thomas M. Menino (Boston, MA) for his service to his city, state, and country.
